Brittania House

The Brittania House is another historic property found on Blackbeard’s Hill. This beautiful home was the former British Consulate.

Britannia House is a beautiful two-story home with four bedrooms and three bathrooms is white with burgundy shutters. Large white columns secure the first- story patio, and a white balcony secures the second-story patio. The British consul originally built it in 1847.

It is nestled in a spacious garden with mature West Indian landscaping including Plumeria trees, Jasmine and Gardenia. As you walk through the garden passageway to the front door, you’ll see lovely, dark wood flooring.

The spacious bedrooms are warm and welcoming.  The home includes a separate one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage. The Britannia House neighbors the Magens-Petersen Estate and is slightly south of Blackbeard’s Castle. It is just minutes from shopping, dining and sightseeing in Downtown Charlotte Amalie.
